"Tan-tra ~Liberation of form."
Tantra is not an intellectual proposition, it is an experience.
It is not a philosophy, because philosophy requires the mind. It is not a religion, because religion requires a belief.
Tantra is a range of various techniques that needs you in your totality. You will have to be in it wholly.
It is a holistic spiritual path, an accurate science of personal development and self-knowledge.
I like to call it "the Royal path". Because it is the only spiritual path, that doesn't exclude the rawness and wildness of the human experience.
It is in agreement with all other concepts, such as science that tells us there is only One Energy, such as religions that tell us there is only One God and atheists or philosophers that tell us there is only us, the Self or a Life force. For everything is actually the same.
Tantra is for those who want to fully experience from themselves this Connection between microcosm and macrocosm.
It is a practice that takes everything into consideration, such as Hatha Yoga practice, Mantra, Yantra, Mudras, meditation, nutrition, philosophy, science, psychology, energy knowledge and sexuality.
It does not deny the world like many spiritual path, but rather embraces it. The idea behind is that everything is divine; hence nothing is refused, denied, or repressed, and instead, everything is accepted, integrated and transformed.
Tantra offers the possibility to reach spiritual realization in the world and through the world, for the tantric route is a paradox where the walls of one's prison are the roads to one's liberation.
Tantric people will use every experience of life like an inner discovery-journey, this obviously leading to a very liberated and interesting life.
It is important to mention that Tantra is not about sex, as it is perceived in the west. But as it is not excluding it from the path, it is giving tools to use the sexual energy for a higher purpose instead of wasting it unconsciously. (But yes, ecstasy and pleasure are beautiful consequences of it). Western minds have developed such a neurosis when it comes to sexuality and have stigmatized the human body in such a way, that Tantra is a taboo for many.
Experience - Consciousness -Vitality
Through the experiences, we raise our consciousness, and by raising our consciousness we are more connected to what we feel and therefore to others too. This connection gives much more intimacy in between oneself and Existence.
It is an integral non-dualistic understanding of the Universe.
